Re: Getting objs into Q3A with Maya

It could be that your texture should be in the same directory as your model. Otherwise, did you already add the shader in the shaderlist?

Re: Getting objs into Q3A with Maya

Open the file with wordpad: The materials in an .obj file are defined by "usemtl YOURMATERIAL"

I haven't tried it, but I expect you can change it to include the tokens you want.

Re: Fluorescent by Ferdinand 'cityy' List (BETA I)

good layout - got one idea for the tunnels underwater: shot0005.gif the color outline is added just for clarity; the white stripes are suggestions for openings so the action below can be followed 'a bit' from above the water. a bit more detail below there might not hurt too - but you might prefer to...

Re: Fluorescent by Ferdinand 'cityy' List (BETA I)

The edited shot looks better to me too, it's simple color theory with opposing/complementary colors - but placing the pictures next to each other like this is somewhat wrong; it's the context and the transition between the red/blue bases which make or break the color palette. (I just only downloaded...

thanks for the suggestions and critique - will definitely improve those bits the scene´s geo is indeed all modeled; you'll probably wonder what the size of this is on the hdd then too. And that's a bummer indeed because the level and the content pack combined are 200mb!! It is proceduraly modelled i...

Re: Linefile nightmare

Is the leak line outside the map entirely? both start, end and intermediate points? If not, and it is shooting through a brush like volumetricSteve says it once occurred to him; it is likely a detail brush which is causing it. Making it a structural one again would solve the problem in that case. If...

Re: MiniPanic Devshots

I tend to think there are two major 'concepts' for this, and a third which puts these two into the map with a grain of salt. Item power = Risk of obtaining (like a highly exposed red armour) Item use = Location (a grenade launcher where the bouncing and curved-trail characteristics of the grenade co...

This is not a precise display, and is more chaotic than what'd be user-friendly - but I hope this helps explaining that which my words didn't succeed in :)

Re: MiniPanic Devshots

I had a quick run through the map a couple days back already, but didn't get to posting my thoughts as I lacked the time afterwards. I had hoped to see some more areas, but that's just based on my expectations I suppose. At any rate, the scale is way to large for my liking; Even for ra3 standards it...

ok, last post in this thread, the amount of misinterpretation is making me upset.

@MKJ: usage and availability arent the same.
@arjaja: read what I wrote in reply to GKY response to the same statement.

Re: what's the deal dutch0z?

@ GKY: I'm wasn't hoping to implicate any similarities as such; It's a comparison I made because _most_ available alcoholic drinks range from an alcohol percentage of 5 to 40 percent, and this range resembles that of the THC % in available marijuana pretty closely - I meant this, and only this. What...

Where in the fuck do you get this info? former employees It is more than obvious that you have no idea what you're talking about. I should have been more accurate, and mention this is only true if you roll a joint full of the stuff and fancy smoking it all in one go. You don't want to continually r...

Re: what's the deal dutch0z?

You dont even want to buy weed or hasj in the netherlands, not in coffeeshops anyway; it's common for weed to be dried using hair-fixation spray, or to speed up the 'hasjing' process it is often fried while its wrapped in tin foil or other shite. If you really want to smoke marijuana, grow your own ...

Re: MiniPanic Devshots

I'll probably download and run it tomorrow - But what I can tell you now, judging from the images, is that I was very perplexed to see that you've made the checkered tiles out of seperate brushes. Is this to delay texture creation, or to stress the engine to see how far you can push it?
