Re: Quake Champions

Just saw a short interview with Tim Willits. Although he doesn't outright deny it's going to be a class-based team shooter, he does go out of his way to emphasize they are going for Quake 3/Quake Live levels of speed, strafing and overall feel. Plus PC only. And targeting 120fps. Sounds alright to m...

Lots of YIFY 1080p releases are only 2GB and you'll be hard pressed to notice quality issues on a tablet screen.

Re: Android tablets?

What annoys the shit out of me for ipads is that you constantly need to use itunes with it. That hasn't been true for a while now. I have never needed iTunes for anything with my iPad. Even putting files on it can be done using apps (I use FileBrowser, which can access Windows shares). Movie stream...

Re: Android tablets?

I have both an iPad (4) and Nexus 7. They are both great devices, but it all depends on what you want to use them for. First, size: the iPad is big and heavy (although the new iPad Air should be a lot lighter) and as such not as easy to take with you. The Nexus is obviously a lot smaller, so much so...

How about trying Unity? You can either use C# or Javascript, it's got a very nice IDE and all the tooling you'll need. And it's free.

Re: The terror warnings...

The most ridiculous thing about all this, is that it's relatively easy to use secure communication, even for normal folk. So that would make the overly broad surveillance of all internet traffic useless. So what they are basically saying now, is that "teh terroristz" are too stupid to use ...

On the topic of Rage: just started playing The Scorchers DLC (sweet deal on Steam for a tad over 1 euro) and holy crap, Rage still is an awesome game. No ifs, no buts.

Re: BMW HP4 superbike vs rallycross Citroen DS3 vs Ariel Atom V8

I didn't inspect the tyres in the video, but why would they be on slicks? The bike and the Atom are road vehicles, so they would be on road tyres, suitable for the wet, and the rallycross is for driving on mud & gravel aswell as tarmac, so that would be on tyres suitable for the wet aswell :off...

Re: Humongously big 4K TVs

There was an article about 4K TV's and media posted over at Slashdot, and it basically came up with this very valid point: Even over the Internet, it’s going to require massive files and, given the choice, most people would happily settle for a 720p or 1080p file anyway.' This is simply not true. A...
