Re: President Trump
Well the Yemen rebellion is backed by Syria, they're pretty brutal and have been trying to take over government for quite some time. As terrorist regimes go, they're up there and didn't really need the yanks help to self destruct. Syria is pretty well covered in the news, Syria didn't need much help from the West to fall apart and needed Russias help to put itself back together. It's also a bit of a contradiction to condemn the US backed Saudis for putting down Shia rebels yet defend the Russian backed Syrians for essentially doing the same. You can't blame a president for enforcing illegal immigration laws either ?, the wall idea is just a white elephant though that appeals to fucktards.
What is disgusing though is stopping refugees, I have some reservations about illegal and legal immigration for varying reasons but can also see the benefits, but why put a blanket ban on people that clearly need assistance ?. That's almost as bad as the Torys thinking it's ok for the people fleeing Libya to drown on the boats they constructed, washing their hands and looking the other way.

Re: President Trump
And it's reasoning similar to "you shouldn't cry about your dead grandpa if you don't even cry about 20 people getting blown up in a terrorist attack in Baghdad"
Of course people get more upset about what happens to themselves or close to home than something that happens to strangers halfway across the globe.
Also, the bombing of Yemen or other military interventions in the middle east are much more complex things to understand than your neighbour not getting back into the country just because he has an Iranian passport.
Oh and the deportation thing is a fallacy. Obama could do this due to a much tighter cooperation between the US and Mexico. Despite illegal immigrants being deported (and hey, why not?) he brought both countries closer together. Trump is dividing them. Literally.

Re: President Trump
How realistic would it be for all american airport personnel (at least those who would be responsible for physically blocking Muslims entry) to put down their work (strike) as long as this Muslim ban is effective? It kind of surprises me that people en masse are willing to comply with these outrageous executive orders.
I saw lots of people protesting on his day of inauguration. Why dont all these people lut their money where their mouth is?

Re: President Trump
It's winter right now. People are more concerned with staying warm... I wouldn't be surprised to see things ramp up as the warmer months approach.

Re: President Trump
American history is rife with reactionary instigators setting fire to churches. Considering the population of the States, someone somewhere was bound to be set off by the President effectively banning Muslims from entering the country.Memphis wrote:could be. not many knuckle-dragging chavs are sat patiently waiting for a particular pen-stroke to commit arson.
the last church that got burned down was an anti-trump chump tryna make things look as bad as he thought they do
I remember the story about that church torched by a supposedly anti-Drumpf guy. Turns out, the arsonist was actually a member of the church and, amusingly, his name is McClinton. The authorities didn't find a political motivation for the arson, however, and suspect that the graffiti might have been done by someone else after the fire had been set, or possibly done by McClinton in an effort to obfuscate. Either way, he hasn't made a public statement as to his true motives for the arson, so nobody knows for sure at this point.

Re: President Trump
I find this scary. Just imagine that there's an actual person, a human, who physically blocked entry for two families and put them on a flight back to a war torn country, knowing that a few hours ago, their paperwork was in order and they would be admitted into the country. This person then drowns their own sense of ethics in the bile that's called "duty". Hiding behind "orders" and "rules". How does this person feel about himself? Does he still sleep at night? Maybe this person is afraid of getting fired, but this sheepish behavior is how dictators rise to power.Transient wrote:http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/Two-Syrian-Families-Detained-at-Philadelphia-International-Airport-Told-to-Fly-Back-Family-Member-Says-412047173.html
Re: President Trump
Trump's secret plan to defeat ISIS has been revealed. He just sign an executive order for the defense department to come up with a plan to defeat ISIS in 30 days... Brilliant...
Re: President Trump
Not to defeat them in 30 days... To come up with a plan to do so...

This is going to continue into tomorrow, too. So far there have been 2 protests and Drumpf has been president for 8 days.
