I have an incredible idea for a CA map

I'll build it, but can someone add the textures and lights to it though?

what kind of textures do you have in mind?
and how many textures would you expect? :)

here's one of my attempts at doing textures. but i've not really bothered to do more ever since then.

Well whatever textures are default in quake 3 would work. I just need someone who knows how to texture things well and add nice lighting. I can only build cubes (which is the main shape that will be in the map ;) ).

ah... so you are talking about doing the layout (general gameplay structure) and ask for another person do do the brushwork (architectonic details) and texturing?

i thought it was a request to do some textures :)

Yeah, go ahead and post a layout. If it's as cool as you say, then someone will be willing to run with it. :)

Its been a long time since I've mapped... need to get my Q3Radiant 197 manual out that I've printed 4 years ago (~150pages) and find how the hell do I navigate in the 3D window.

click with your right mouse button in it, and mouselook, then move with the arrow keys. You really ought to use gtkradiant though...

Btw, GTK freezes why I right-click the view fields.

Nevermind, got Gtk 1.4 instead of the buggy 1.5 and it works perfectly :)

Its lucky the editoring forum is so easy going on new mappers, otherwise this thread could have so easily turn out like this! ;)

No, there's more to it than that. It had several other arguments for tweaking the display also.

And maybe +set r_mode 4 but I've never needed it since mine switches to windowed mode automagically.
