Where is he now?

Syd Barrett is at home in Cambridgeshire, England. He occasionally ventures out, but mainly is kept to the house where he's said to paint and write literature.

Watching a recording of a live concert doesn't make it live.

Gilmour's two solo albums are really good. I've got both on vinyl somewhere...

Gilmour and Waters are different creatively. Gilmour is more precise, thoughtful and technically talented, whereas as Waters is free but not so technically adept. I can understand how one side would get frustrated with the other -- two approaches towards the same goal.

As an example, in the live8 performance, watch Waters' intro to "Money". He comes in way too fast, but he is a free spirit and he doesn't seem to care.
