I am using GtkRadiant 1.5.0.
I can't select faces using shift+ctrl+mouse1. When I do this, it selects everything I have created. I have tried using an older version and then it works. It seems to be related to this latest(?) version. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Select face.
Select whichever brush you want to select a specific face, and then press "F".
Or, more easily, download the latest nightly build, where face-selection is added back in, as SpoG has fixed it.
EDIT: Found it at last:

Just installed the latest nightly... hrmm, how do you move a func_group around? When I select a part of a func_group, it doesn't select the whole group and when I move it, it only moves the selected brush instead of the whole group.
