I really enjoyed the portion(s) with the Mech's...
Someone should create a mod: Mech Arena. 1 on 1 tournament style play in a fairly big map(s) with each player in a mech with unlimited ammo. This could be a lot of fun. What do you guys think?

This could include: 4 maps. 2 mechs (different skins). Tournament style gameplay... I really think this could be a great thing. I could provide graphics support, I am pretty decent with Photoshop.
I really don't think it would take more work than any other mod. Just basically: 4 maps... use the mech model that is in the game and make 1 new skin for it... use the tournament model that is used in 1 vs 1 play. It could be done with minimal work I believe.

Not necessarily. If you didn't go any higher than 3 on3, and laid things out right. Granted, it would still be rather tight, and not really flowing open, but it could be done I think. Performance on the PC might be tough though.
i would say it would give the game more of a appeal to the MEch loving crawd, But i have to also say, alot of them are usually VERY Bias to what games they play.
Take a look at Gundam Mod's for quake 3. and you will see what i am talking about.
This wouldn't be for another crowd... it would be for gamers who enjoyed the mech portions in Quake4 and wanted intense multiplayer action battling against foe's in 1vs1 play. :icon28:

Are you talking about SP? Haven't gotten around to it, do the mechs handle well?
I remember a mod for Quake 2 which had mech style combat. I think it was called Devestation ( http://www.planetquake.com/devastation ).
That mod was a lot of fun and it would be awesome if something like that could be recreated in Quake 4. I don't think it should be too hard.
Damn I can't wait for the SDK to be released.
