Since no one's in T&T at the moment - Printer sharing?
I have my printer connected to one PC, and I want to print from my laptop over my wireless network. I can't seem to make this happen.
Help.

Some times a computer won't see the shared printer on the network and you must type in the network name of the printerNightshade wrote:I shared the printer, made sure the firewalls were turned off on both machines just in case, yet the laptop won't see the printer.
The printer name can be obtained by going to the shared printer in the control panel of the PC the printer is hooked to.
Should look something like this when you type it in on your laptop.
MAINPCNAME/PRINTERNAME

What OS' are both of these machines running?
If they are running Windows 2K/XP, you may need to allow access from the laptop top the desktop.
Meaning, if the user of the laptop (local) is "Motorcycle" with a password of "isbroke" is not a user account on your desktop, you may not have permissions to access that shared network resource.
To resolve this, create a user account on your desktop machine with the same username and password as you currently use to login on the laptop, check the security on the shared printer, and you should be good to go.
