Ravenholm disappointed me. Everyone hyped up how scary it was so much that it never really peaked.

Well after coming straight out of doom3 I'm not really finding ravensholm that scary. Those screaming zombies are quite funny.
Gravity gun is pretty good. Throwing saw blades at those fuckers is good fun.

well, doom3 was predictable: see weapon lit up on floor, pick up weapon, a squad of goons jump out of a closet, the end

ravenholm was more nervy. i've played it several times so i know what to expect, but even so there are still bits that make me slightly edgy. the poison zombies (guys with crabs on their heads that they throw at you) are the worst (suggestion: pelt them with gas cans or gas cylinders with the physgun - they all burn up together yo ho ho).

Yeah, I'm looking forward to finishing ravensholm, not the most riveting part of the game so far.

Ravenholm was supposed to be scary? Oh :icon30:

Personally I just thought it was the most annoying/worst part of the game. It was basically "Hay let's make you run out of ammo and not give you any more then throw a bunch of monsters at you. Instant gameplay tension!!! Rite!?" It annoyed the shit out of me. I hate developers that think making for tense, interesting, and challenging gameplay is as simple as not giving you enough ammo.

It's not there to make the game tense. Its there as a sandbox to test out the grav gun against enemies that don't have ranged attacks.

Yeah, the first half of it. The second half hardly provides any ammo for the gravgun. That's why you get the shotgun. But too little ammo.

20 shells, continuously respawning zombies = losing battle

There are no ever spawning zombies in ravenholm.

In this area. They keep respawning in the alleys to the left and to the right. If you don't find the way to go quick, you'll end up having to bash an endless supply of zombies with the crowbar.

I thought ravenholm was the best part. Not because it was scary, but because you got to kill shit with the grav gun. Plus with zombies the AI has an excuse to be complete ass. Other than that the game was pretty shitty.

i always get to the end with a full load. the trick is to just ignore all those faggots who spawn in that street. the poison zombies can be taken out with physgun + gas cans or exploding barrels, if necessary

i love that bit. the only awkward part is the poison zombie who spawns in a dark alley off to the right, and chucks crabs at you while you're up on the wooden gangway

The problem is that I was playing through it for the first time. It was pretty annoying.

I'm pretty sure I've killed all that spawns there. Will have to check it out.
