Imagine, we already weren't allowed to smoke in a public place or at the office for awhile now and now this. What do you think about this, is it the same in your country?
+ if you have an alcotest of more then .08% you spend the night in the jail county and go in front of the court the next day, well that is if it is before friday or should you be caught on a friday, you will spend the whole weekend in the city jail till monday.
We have a type of organism that take care of you during the Christmass time. If you are too drunk to drive, they will drive you home in your car for a donation. They just now decided to do it all year long. About time, I mean good initiative.

Yea, they passed that here last year...at first all the bars went on about how it would run them out of business, but it hasn't had the impacts they thought it would. A lot of places built covered, outdoor smoking areas because there is some leeway on the part of the law about being 25 feet from the doors. I hate cigarette smoke, so this made me happy....but I am really torn about the legal aspects of the ruling and whatnot. So, while I enjoy the fact that I can go out to a sports bar with friends to watch a game and not come home smelling like shit from the smoke, I still don't know that I agree with the ruling.
Oh well.
Oh well.

Unnecessary, best kept of the books.
I don't like to be around smokers, but this is needlessly burdensome for restaurants and bars in particular. Smokers can be successfully segregated from non-smokers in restaurants without sharing much of the same air. Though I grant that for bars this probably is unworkable and they'll either be entirely smoking (majority of them) or non-smoking (the rest).

It's in their interest to exaggerate the burden such a law would place upon them, but even so I don't see sufficient justification for this.tnf wrote:Yea, they passed that here last year...at first all the bars went on about how it would run them out of business, but it hasn't had the impacts they thought it would.
my 2¢.

I swear I was against and I am still against smoking. I read books about all the "exiting" things, coffe, cig, grass...+JuggerNaut+ wrote:GOOD NEWS
I read what it does in the brains and all when I was like 14 16 YO. A time when I didn't use any except for coffe.
I have been smoking for nearly 15Y now, same time all of my surrounding family and friends quited. Wonder if that was because I lacked the second hand smoke they used to give me.

Businesses are enclosed private areas. If the enclosed space is publicly owned and operated then I would tend to agree.Canis wrote:I dont think folks should be allowed to smoke in any enclosed public area, or in any place where non-smokers would be inconvenienced by the smoke.
