This is very true. This is for one of the companys that works the ports. This mexican was running the fork lift and he was hauling a big cement block that they use to move their trash dumpsters, well he wasnt paying attention and didnt see the orange cones marking off the area where other guys were working. He went into the area and lost control of the forklift and dropped the cement palett on the guy killing him instantly. The company quickly took action deporting him back to mexico knowing that they would be in trouble for having illegal immigrants working for them. When border patrol showed up they said they guy just fled the scene. Now this poor fellow who was killed had a wife and a newborn at home that he will never see again, yet the mexican is going back home to his family with no repercussions....sounds like a shitty deal to me. Don't get me wrong I am sure the company paid his family very well for their loss, but this could have all been avoided if they would just hire, train, and take care of their employees like they should. Not saying that they cant hire immigrants, just make sure they are legal and trained properly for their jobs.
