I was just talking to a coworker about this yesterday.Underpants? wrote:strange how adults are becoming less accountable in their actions and children more?
In Colorado, a dozen or so teens have received life imprisonment in the past 5 years.
I don't understand how people can expect these kind of things to stop happening if parents and guardians aren't held accountable for what their children do.
It's amazing. When there is a kid who brings a gun to school, for instance, the child gets sent off to Juvie, expelled or whatever, probably worsening the kid's outlook. Meanwhile the parents are upset because their kid has to be shipped off.
But I haven't heard of any instances yet where the parents get in any kind of trouble for just leaving a gun lying around where a kid can get to it.
lol is that the way his lawyer interpret it?Underpants? wrote:at which point it went off...
and yeah the owner's gun should have something to explain.
but but it all depends, I know for a fact teenagers are capable of getting a hold of a gun from the streets at which point his parents failed, the kid is a punk and do to his paren't lack of control the kid has to lose his freedom. No other way around it, most kids like that never change because there is no incentive.

Aside from bullying or not sharing, I can't imagine any reason to give a 4-year-old any kind of detention. Certainly not just for being nice.Big Kahuna Burger wrote:it was an in-school suspension. so basically it was a day of detention for something he did wrong, even if it is extreme for feelin some tits.
why is this national news again?
Yet you make it sound so reasonable.

news articles on '4 year old gets a timeout' seem to be hard to find these days
That kind of punishment? Hes just 4! A time out would be simple. After all kids around the ages of 1 and 4 are still in the area for them to try to feel, smell, touch, and etc with things. They dont really know whats right and wrong in life.
Whats next?

It's news because they tried to charge a 4-year-old with sexual harassment.Big Kahuna Burger wrote:lol. i think its ridiculous to give a 4 year old detention but its not completely out of line by any means.R00k wrote:Aside from bullying or not sharing, I can't imagine any reason to give a 4-year-old any kind of detention. International news buddy, it was all over the press.Big Kahuna Burger wrote:it was an in-school suspension. so basically it was a day of detention for something he did wrong, even if it is extreme for feelin some tits.

Because the thought of a four year old getting punished in any way for sexual intimidation makes sane people laugh hysterically. I'm surprised some people in this thread feel the child should be punished, but it's the severity of the punishment that is ridiculous - jesus christ, the kid is four. He doesn't know any better.
If anyone should be punished it's the aide. If this makes her uncomfortable she shouldn't be working with young children.
