Nightshade wrote:Yeesh. Bad NYE memories? Fuck. I stopped drinking for 3.5 years. I had been convinced that I was an alcoholic (at 17), never did quite believe it. At any rate, I decided that I wanted a beer one winter's night while home from uni. This was 1991, I believe. So, I had a few with my buddy, it was no big deal. So, come New Year's Eve, I went to a party loaded for bear. Got two pints of vodka and a six pack, all for me. Now, to the regular drinker this may not seem like much, but recall that I had had six beers in almost four years. Went to a buddy's house and killed the first of my pints, then we went to a killer party where a friend's band was playing. I drank all my beers, the remaining vodka and several more beers. I was absolutely incapacitated, blind drunk. I remember ending up in the back of my buddy's Volvo, so drunk I couldn't find the handle to open the door to puke. I recall just how shitty it felt to be grasping blindly for the door handle, with absolutely zero ability to find it, let alone operate it. Yeah, I barfed all over the floor of his car. :olo: Then I passed the fuck out.
Shit night.
and it's shit like this that's the reason i don't drink any more

Yeah, I'd imagine the increasing frequency of your "senior moments" would put you off...

i havent had any 'bad' new years. much like scourge said, mostly uneventful.
the thing that springs to mind thuogh is when some drunk dude thought it was a good idea to put out his cigarette between my knuckles.
he didnt even know he was doing it either. that shit hurt. plus side, that little patch will never hurt again! \o/

I think the "worst" NYE for me, was spent playing Q2CTF for 5 hours straight and celebrating the actual transition in the middle part of McKinkey Revival, on some pub.

Haha, yeah, I think I had 2 or 3 NYEs that were spent in clan matches and tournaments.

Last year (ok year before last now) I went to a party with two male friends who had been after the same girl for a while. They both really liked her, but managed to keep the rivalry friendly, and they both thought this could be the night to get with her as she was about to go back to Germany.

Me, I just wanted to have fun, and found it severely lacking when I turned up, a little predrunk. It was slightly older crowd and everyone was sitting at a table, eating and watching TV. Bo-ring! So I decide it's my duty to liven things up, and to help me do this I need a lot of rum in a very short time.

I don't remember anything past this point.

I'm told I succeeded in entertaining for about 10-15 minutes. For that short time I was the life and soul, until I slumped into my chair and fell asleep. Then people took photos of me.

Eventually, I stood up, wandered into the kitchen and puked up everywhere. Then some people took me down to the basement where I puked up some more while they played guitar and sang Wonderwall. Then I sat outside in the snow for a while, grunting incomprehensibly. And puking more.

My friends realised they had to take me home, which is about 20 mins walk away for a sober person. So that was my new year's eve, tucked up in bed and asleep by 10pm.

Thing is, by the time my friends got back to the party, the German girl had disappeared upstairs with the host. So of course they blamed me.

BTW... Pan's Labyrinth is incredible. It's been out in the UK for quite a while now. I actually thought it would be pretty average based on the trailer, but I was very very wrong. Can't recommend it enough.

Last night i had a blast with a bunch of friends i hadnt seen in a while, i played some incoherent drunken music at mind numing volumes then hung out with topless women in a hot tub.

Besides the damn Irish car bomb the host made me drink i would say it was all in all a good evning.

Dont remember going to bed though.(blackouts always kinda scare me)

Got drunk beyond stupidly drunk, started wrestling around with my brother in some sort of drunked fight (in good fun of course..but drunken fun), slammed him through a coffee table, he then slammed me into a corner table and I got a bruised kidney and pissed blood for 3 days. Puked on my favorite shirt. That was near the time I quit drinking altogether.

Tonight my wife and I are sitting here watching TV and eating chips and salsa. And for some reason I am completely content with it. Times they do change.

The fucking fucking news just showed up Saddam end. We didn’t have to see it.
It is one of the most disturbing with the falling of the overpass.

I once jumped from an overpass on NYE too. Surprisingly I lived.
