the smart joy usb converter cost me $10 and is actually one of the only "plug and play" devices i've ever seen.
xp picks it up as soon as its pluged in... full analog support and not one issue for the year and a half i've had it.
matter of fact i'm so happy with it i'm planning on getting a second one, then attaching them to a bay plate so i can have two hard-modded ps2 ports on my pc.
Do you still have the floppy driver for it?
If so could you send me the files?
fragageddon [at] hotmail [dot] com
the win98 driver?
yeah, i think so... but its for win9x.

Never mind DW. Seems the adapter works in Win2K with no drivers needed.
The last time I tried it, it didn't work. But that was a long time ago.

well, i sent it anyway since you made me look for it :p

it says on the disk "driver not needed if no rumble/vibration support is required."
so maybe it adds force feedback. :paranoid:

you can rotate the right hand side of the pad like an analogue stick, it's possibly the worst design i've ever come accross.. apart from maybe the Sidewinder pad that you can tilt about.

I heard those wireless ones weren't good because you have to plug your headset into the xbox itself. But I'm think I'll get one for my PC though. :icon14:
Well, theres 2 options..

option 1, have console closer..

option 2, get wireless headset.. theres one by logitech, and i hear theres a 40$ one by plantronics..

i know this is prolly blasphemy in here, but i was trying to set it up in q3. i set the profile up in the editor i got from saitek, the axis are right but i cant get the buttons assigned. do you have to bind them in the console? it does work good in madden 05 though.
Thx.

Logitech has been good to me. :)

I have a logitech gamepad, flight stick, mouse, and speaker kit. All have been great.

I also, resell tonnes of Logitech product, and have found very little problems with their products. Quality in my experience.

i'm sure there's a lot of good players out there who use a gamepad. and despite the notion that gamepads are not for fps, i say that the gameplay will be better. why should we be limited to just one?
