Thx.

the sooner you become a mouse/keyboard player, the sooner you will become the best you can be at quake 3.
you got that super hot gaming keyboard, make use of it...
i'm sure there's a lot of good players out there who use a gamepad. and despite the notion that gamepads are not for fps, i say that the gameplay will be better. why should we be limited to just one?
I'm just trying to give you some useful advice.

Don't get a Logitech Dual Action Gamepad whatever you do. I bought one about a year ago, and it's got all sorts of problems on a hardware level. They still haven't fixed it, the ones it sells now still have the same problems. There was a forum for their drivers that hundreds of people posted the same problems on, and they still wouldn't admit that their hardware was faulty.

IMO, Logitech mice are great, but PC gamepads are shit.

I'd get a PS2 or Xbox converter for PC, whichever you prefer.

They sell all kinds. You have to ship from I think Hong Kong, but lots of people have and are very happy with their purchases.

Shut up you stupid fanboy. In case you have failed to notice, the majority of PC cntrollers are modeled after PS1/PS2 controllers, so obviously something is right.
What a faggot. The PlayStation controller is a complete rip of the Nintendo design that they were working with while the PlayStation was originally the next Nintendo console.

The ps2 controller is the best controller ever made in the history of console gaming...anyone who disagrees has to be a complete moron.

[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

The thing I've noticed with PES/Winning Eleven (and any other game using a pad for that matter) is how using a converter with a PS2 pad feels slightly unresponsive.

I just went back to using a Gravis Gamepad Pro in the gameport and it was so much more responsive than the USB converter.

Also there's a configuration tool in the game folder that might sort the d-pad problem.

So that's my considered answer even though I just found out this topic is old.

These days, the smart choice is a wired xbox 360 pad. Works on Macs too.

I have a MadCatz Xbox style controller. Only problem I have with it is the analog trigger controls get read as digital by Winblows. Sux for racing games, since the analog triggers are moot for gas and break because of default Windows gamepad driver.
