Bitwise gave me great hosting at a great price for a year, and not only made sure everything worked, but even wrote some custom code for me on it for a couple things. He had plenty of opportunity to rip me off if he had been so inclined.

Even though I wouldn't rip some strange idiot off for 400 bucks on the interweb, when I was younger I could probably see myself doing that.

I did feel a bit awkward for a while. Until I transfered off his server I was so afraid to run into him online. One night I did and he aired out what happened in the general chat channel, the other players only assaulted him for being a newb that had to buy characters and said he got what he deserved. So I think that helped harden my resolve in finding it funny rather than wrong. I don't make it a point to rip people off and I usually go out of my way to help someone if they ask. But I still give in to temptation.

Just to put a fine point on it for you, what you did was wrong. No ifs, ands or buts. I don't care what you think about it. I have zero respect for people that steal. Knowing that you took someone's money for an account, and gave them nothing, I would never group with you, be in a guild with you or trust you with anything in game. Ever. If I was an officer of a guild you were in, I'd have you kicked.

I've never used a torrent, I've never dl'd music, movies or anything else I didn't pay for. Am I better than you? Nope. However, my word is good. When I tell someone I will do something, there's no question it will be done. I value the trust others have in me. I earned it.

I've played the game since the beginning. I've been a guild officer. It is very easy to invest alot of time in this game. I have respect for people's time. Stealing is stealing, no matter the venue.

Also, just as a side note, I noticed that alot of you guys make value judgments on what other people do with their time but get upset when others make the same judgment on what you do. Nothing you guys do is any better or more "worthy" than what anyone else here does. Sorry you can't grasp that.
