All the hype and 10/10 reviews makes me vary of this game, especially since GTA 3 was such a dull snorefest. It's clearly a game for the masses, sort of like a RPG-light (quests and open world, but no character development) for the mainstream. Plus, I get the impression that the criminal setting is a large part of the appeal (wow, you can kill hookers, steal police cars and generally behave however you want in a reasonably close-to-reality world), which is appealing if you are 15 I guess, but I don't really get why all the reviewers are raving so much about it.MKJ wrote:if you didnt like previous GTAs, you wont like this one. very simple.
that doesnt automatically mean that this game is of the same quality as the previous, or that nothing has changed but graphics (cause it aint), but its still the same type of game. ergo, if you got bored fairly quickly with gta vice, you will get bored with this one
Then I don't really see the appeal of many of the other large mainstream games like WoW, Counterstrike and Starcraft either so maybe mainstream simply isn't for me.
But, I haven't played it yet so maybe I shouldn't judge it based on the hype. You can get back to me when it's out for PC.
