Not odd at all, the thread just kills two birds with one stone;
Agreeing that the wii sucks donkey dick + info on the PS3

I would get a PS3 if it had any good games that I couldn't just as well get for PC.

Seems to me that Nintendo UK see the DS as their number one revenue stream. There's ad after ad on TV and hardly any Wii ads.

Not a great sign of things to come for the Wii.

Well, I think I'm gonna break down and buy a PS3. The wife would like to have a Bluray player and I like the extra media features. It would also allow me to combine 2 components already in my media cabinet, the HDDVD player and Archos media player. I could then move the Archos into the master bedroom to have wireless media access there and throw the slow loading HDDVD player out the window. And why not, I already have a PS1 and PS2. I might as well have a PS3. :D

BTW, we're gonna have to keep my son's Wii. :paranoid:

I'm not at all interested in getting a PS3 tbh. The Wii is still good entertainment for multiplayer with buddies so it'll stick around. The lack of new games is a letdown though.

PS3 is good and so is the 360

Wii is redundant and for kids - though I do like Mario Kart

Or maybe demand for the Wii is still so strong that there is no need to advertise.

I don't mind being wrong but your reply is stupid without giving explanation.

Hmm...might try and package everything and sell my PSP and the Wii, 2 controllers, Wii sports and Wii play, and whatever PSP games I can scrounge up for $300 - $350 or so.

Why do you need to sell one gaming system to buy another?

If you haven't figured it out, you haven't read this thread too carefully as it pertains to the Wii.

When one gaming system sucks balls and has sat on the entertainment center for several months without being turned on and I might buy a different one that does, why not put the old system to some use by getting money for it to put towards the other one?

Alternatively, I could keep the Wii, buy a PS3, and then still have a console that gets absolutely no use.

Or you could give the Wii/PSP package as a gift to someone you'll know might use it more than you?

I bought a Playstation 2 for a student last year, gave away a computer, and spent $100 on the tree of sharing all in an effort to buy my way into heaven if it exists. Time to sell something.

Just give whatever you don't want or need away. I'm sure some loser somwhere needs/wants it.

BTW, I sold my rebuilt PC for $150.00 to a friend's brother who needs a PC.

I'm going to heaven for sure now.

h,, what i find interesting is that you have wii sports & play but say the system sucks ball..
how about getting some actual games for the system? i mean minesweeper came with windows but its still a good gaming platform. hope you played more than than thoose 2 "games" ..

for me the ps3 is so faar the somehow the most interesting but also boring console.
i have have 7-8 retail games and a couple psn stuff but the only game i actualy beat was mgs4, the rest was bought, played, then forgotten. at the end the controller always buggs me, the 360 one feels alot better due to the analog stick placements..

anyway, if youre not using it sell it :) but don't hope the ps3 has a much better lineup.
if you don't need the blue ray take a look at the 360, you get the same third party crap as on the ps3 and gears 2 was just released.

 Of course those aren't the only two games I've played on the system. I rent the rest. And I've played only a few that haven't sucked. Other than those few (zelda, metroid, mario and a few more) the rest just don't have any appeal to me whatsoever. I was really hoping for better implementation of the wiimote with sports games - hell, with almost any game - and it didn't happen to the extent I was looking for.

I have a 360. I have a newly built PC. I'd like a blu-ray player, hence the PS3 idea. And there are a few games I really want to play on it.

Oh, I see, because I said you might want to look at donating a computer that could be of use to someone who cannot afford one you think that I should....ooohhh I get it.

I mentioned donating the computer because I know from experience how many kids need a one for school and have no chance in hell of getting one (as opposed to just wanting a gaming console for the fun of it.) You can rest assured that had you been asking about what to sell your other shit for I wouldn't have suggested you give it away.

The problem with every nintendo console starting with the N64 is that you have very little choice. Either you play a couple of very good Nintendo games or you play garbage.

Most of those Nintendo games are worth playing, but what if you're into fighters and want to play a very good fighting game? What about an RPG game? Or a sports game? You just don't have many good options and it's just very blah in general.

that and that nintendo obligates devs to make use of their *innovative* features, which in most cases feel slapped on and frankly, annoying.

I just wanted them to make decent use of those innovative features. Mario for the Wii had one level I recall where I really found the control scheme innovative and fun, the part where you were riding on top of the rolling ball and had to lean the stick to control it. And that lasted all of one level I think.
