Thats what I've been pissed about for the N64, Gamecube, and now Wii. The good games are really good but they're few and far between. They really need to push for more and higher quality titles.

Nintendo says the hardcore crowd will pay attention to the Wii next year:

Sure, Madworld, The Conduit and Sin & Punishment 2 might turn some heads, but I doubt it'll be enough.

MP:Corruption, Super Paper Mario, Mario Galaxy, GH:WT, Wii Fit, Smooth Moves, Mario Kart Wii... it's hard for me to even imagine what I would do with another console. Then again, I like games that are fun instead of games that are pretty. :(

In Q1 or Q2 of 2007 I would've agreed with you, but I've really fallen from my Nintendo faith. Me buying the XBox 360 was the last little push I needed. There are so many great games on the XBox 360 and so few on the Wii lately, it's not fun anymore.
I still firmly believe in the Wii's recepy for success. I also don't think the console sucks. In fact, it's a work of beauty, but it's just not filling the need for (relatively) hardcore gamers anymore. I still massively enjoy Mario Kart, Tetris Party, Big Brain Academy and Wii Fit with my girlfriend, but when I play a game by myself, it's the XBox that fills my needs.

You needed me so bad that it hurts, MKJ.

I dunno, maybe it's just that I'm so addicted to specific games and am a Nintendo fanboy and a completist. But until I've unlocked Dry Bowser, I haven't finished Mario Kart. And so on and so forth. So I don't really need more than five or six new games in a year to really keep my attention, and the Wii has done that for me. Hell, I still haven't really gotten into Corruption despite starting my list with it, but the little bit that I played was beyond awesome. Plus I still need to get Tetris Party and BBA.

Granted, Metroid Prime Corruption is, without a doubt, a piece of gaming brilliance.

growing up with exclusively nintendo products--an NES, and then SNES, N64, Gamecube...you don't realize what you're missing until you buy a non-nintendo console.
