TV Subtopic - Favorite Cartoons from whenever

Post by tnf »

Today things suck.

But 20+ years ago, I recall watching a lot of:

Looney Toons - the original, politically incorrect ones. Some absolutely brilliant stuff back then.

The original transformers cartoon.
The original voltron cartoon.
The original GI Joe cartoon.

Where there any good ones from the UK that nobody in the states has heard of?

Didn't we have one of these a year ago or something complete with YouTube opening titles (too lazy to check)?

Anyway, to add to the list above:

So true. Today most of the classic cartoons would be considered "inappropriate" by religious groups and worthless parents. Animaniacs was loaded with hilarious jokes that would probably be considered "sexual harassment" these days.
Kids are growing up retarded because their current childhood shows are preparing them for a life of slobbering servitude.

I'm not going to list mine but I have a few things to say anyway.

Bananaman
Danger Mouse

I think quite a lot of people in the US have heard of Danger Mouse, though, haven't they?

There were stop-motion animations aswell.

No it was all links with no titles, so it was a shit thread.

But 20+ years ago,...
I disagree; the X-men and X-men Evolution cartoons are great. Ren and Stimpy was good when it was new, Beavis and Butthead was good when it was new. They don't stand the test of time. Aeon Flux.

In general, though, cartoons were better 15 or 20 years ago.

I don't know why they aren't so good these days; X-men Evolution was stopped being made cause it wasn't poplular enough. So was Aeon Flux. I don't know how they work it out but something is wrong. Either most people don't like good stuff, or they are measuring the ratings wrong somehow.

You'd have thought with the internet and modern technology, doing it in software, they'd get the audience and content balanced, but Ninjai: The Little Ninja progressed in stops and starts and it looks like they won't ever get anywhere with it.

It was set in the UK with UK voice actors, so I don't think it was Disney.

I think it was just inspired by Disney, like anime was.
