GTA IV
Re: GTA IV
I finally got to have a crack at this on my mate's 360, and I must say it has tempted me to spend my fix-my-car-so-i-can-get-to-work money on the new GTA4 combo pack. It's stunning and awesome. God damn it.
Re: GTA IV
I tried bowling today...I suck at it. But you can bowl drunk if you stop at a bar before. Bowling still isn't any fun drunk.
Re: GTA IV
I can bowl a near-perfect game. Take 2 steps to the left and bowl perfectly straght. You'll get a strike.

Re: GTA IV
Anyone seen the sentinel car with the scoop on the hood and the spoiler. Not a bad looking one. Looks a lot like an impreza and I just noticed the black one I am driving has a pink "STD" written on the side of the spoiler in the same style as the STi on the imprezas.
Re: GTA IV
I have one sat at a safehouse with my Sultan RS.

Re: GTA IV
yup yup i got one of those sentinals at a safehouse as well.
i actually ran across a pretty cool sultan today. it's blue and looks a lot more like an impreza/wrx than the normal sultan or sultan RS. it's got a wing and hood scoops like the RS but when you get into the car is just says Sultan.

Re: GTA IV
Man, I can't find the cool cars. I guess I just don't know where to look. I don't spend a whole lot of time devoted to looking for cars though. I just hope they pass by me and then I'll snag em. But I need to spend a couple hours just filling up my safehouse parking spots with sweet rides...
Re: GTA IV
There is a parked Sultan RS that's always available in Alderney (leftmost island). In the northwest corner of Westdyke there is a dirt road. Go to the end of the middle path and behind a garage is a Sultan RS hidden rather well in the bushes.
There are two places to get an Infernus. Either complete Bernie's missions and he gives you one with a custom paint job, or steal the one that Steve (Brucie's car-jacking friend) asks for and park it in your safehouse instead of his garage.
Around the corner from your safehouse in Algonquin (not Playboy's Mansion) is a car dealership with about 4 Turismos inside. Pick the color you like best.
Alternatively, you can use this map to find whatever vehicle you want.

Re: GTA IV
Seriously, the car spawning is shite in this game, I hate how it depends on system resources... I drove down a street and no joke, I saw 7 Infernus parked on the left, 4 parked on the right, and 5 in single file coming towards me... Jesus...
Re: GTA IV
I had something similar happen with SUVs, and they were all red. It doesn't bother me enough to irritate me, though.

Re: GTA IV
i personally kinda like it. i can usually find a car like rather fast, but after driving it around for a while and completely screwing it up i like that i can just pull in front of some poor bloke and jack the same car in mint condition.
Re: GTA IV
Yeah, it's a nice feature (assuming that's what it is). It's always amusing to see it go overboard, though.

Re: GTA IV
Yet another necro.
I couldn't get into San Andreas at all a few years ago. I was tired of the series but the ~3-4 year gap until I finally got GTA:IV a few months ago was enough to get me excited about it again.
I loved GTA:IV. As far as I can tell, the main reason why is Nico. He's smart and witty unlike previous protagonists. He's ballsy enough to crack jokes at the rather unsavory characters he's having to work for. I really *liked* the guy. I liked the devotion he had to his cousin (like when he's screaming "You should not have fucked with my family" etc when rescuing Roman), despite what an annoying twat Roman was most of the time ("Cousin, it's your cousin! Let's go bowling!" in the middle of a fucking mission). I liked the fact that Nico was an immigrant, that's something I could relate with personally and it was fun watching his interactions with locals play out.
The fact that it's next gen, the whiz bang graphics, solid radio programming etc were all just icing on the cake

Re: GTA IV
As I have owned this game from release, I think I shall start to play it properly now, having just completed Prince of Persia
Re: GTA IV
I agre U4EA - GTA IV was excellent all the way around.
I'm giving the lost and the damned add on a try. motorcycle controls are a lot better.

Re: GTA IV
Yeah the bikes in the expansion are hugely improved. Its almost not worth getting into a car after seeing the difference.tnf wrote:I agre U4EA - GTA IV was excellent all the way around.

Re: GTA IV
gta:sa > gta 4 imho
Re: GTA IV
I agree, Nico is a likable character.
the missions are way too repetitive for a gta game and theres not enough different sidequests (compared to say Vice), but it was an awesome game.
might play again

Re: GTA IV
I found the social aspect quite irritating as well. People calling up randomly to arrange crap. Getting called while on the way to a mission or right when you find a good car you don't want to get banged up, grr. Eventually (much as in real life, hohohho) I gave up on the social aspect entirely .. aside from the chick that could clear wanted level.
