I have XP Pro, SP2 which used to stop pop ups, but for the last month or so I have been getting lots of pop ups. I also have the google toolbar, but they dont seem to work.
Adaware is good, but Spybot and Microsoft antispyware each catch things the other 2 don't. For AV I use AVG, Norton, Housecall, and Panda. As long as you don't run them at the same time you are much more safe than just using one for each. Out of curiosity, what kind of popups are you getting?

overkill
I have only AVG and Norton installed. And only one of them running at any given time. I use the others for occasional online scans. Same as with the anti spyware, they each catch stuff the others don't.

that's still overkill man. no reason to have so many antivirus apps. if one's not doing it for you, you need to look elsewhere.
Apparently AVG is doing the trick because it's the only one I have running full time and haven't had a virus in quite some time. Iuse the online scans about once a month for shits and giggles. Don't even remember the last time I opened up Norton.
