lol I've had a variety of jobs but I'm happy I never had to deal with that, although working at a fisheries factory is no walk in the park :)

edit: actualy that fisheries job was teh reason I went to college...

Yeah I'm super pumped for this job, it'll be the first IT tech support job I have that actualy has a decent pay with vacation and benefits, something my family needs. I currently have benefits that I pay for out of pocket but I'd rather it be included with my job. :)

What sort of benefits? Retirement, vacation, short-term disability, family medical leave, etc?

I'm curious (since you live in Canadia) as to what sort of benefits employers offer up there, and what sort they don't have to.

Well medical benefits is what I'm referring to. The job does have Vacation benefits and probably somekind of retirement benefits but I don't have the specifics.

Benefits around here typicly include medical leaves, prescriptions, usualy like 80% of the costs are covered or more and various other medical benefits that our regular medicair doesn't cover like dental so getting coverage is important, especialy when you drink energy drinks like I do :) and maybe you too if you've had your kid yet lol.

got any examples? this is something i've been looking into.
Funnily enough, we're early in the process [demos and such] with Canon Australia, they're looking to replace their existing solution and have shortlisted a bunch of options.

Ours is a fairly comprehensive package. Does the normal stuff like field service, depot repair, tech logistics etc. It's got dynamic scheduling and integrates with google maps, lots more. Dunno, I'm not a salesman.

Get your services manager to exercise their Google fu.
just taken something up. for a small work force it's £25k outlay and £5k a year to run without any hardware.
it's making a nice hole in my SGA, fucking lucrative software.

Hope you get the job, Kracus. A family man needs (deserves?) a steady income and security.

Back in the day:

Construction - basements
Prep cook - that was really brief. Kitchen work just sucks.
Vending deliveries
Gas jockey
Pizza deliveries
Teaching assistant at a tech college
Warehouse work
Tech support
Web design
Network administration
IT Management

Current:

ITIL is really targetted towards the IT industry, a lot of its specialized functionality wouldn't apply to other industries. Not sure what Doombrain is using it for but I imagine it'd be normal field service type stuff.

lol, driving a dump truck was probably the most stressful job I've ever had. When loaded, brakes aren't so much for stopping as much as they're for slowing down over excruciatingly long distances :p
I feel your pain, I especially hated that extremely slow acceleration

Not £3886, but $6500. I don't know many people who wouldn't be happy to get an extra $125 a week for the next 3 months before getting another increase.
