Q3A is not chess, my friend. How boring would it be to never catch a vet by surprise? Spock would not have ever even bothered to play Kirk if the board was the traditional, 2d board. And a basketball court? Pah-LEEZ.

I play Q3A. I regularly try the maps from this forum. You should calm down, maybe?

I'm still banned, and I should probably contact the admins to avoid annoying mods editing my posts.

Sorry for the delay folks. I had some activity in regards to Quake Live some time ago, and things have been quiet for ages since. Finally I've had some movement on things, hence my post here again.

A little too early for me to say much, but I think a lot of people will be happy. Let's just say I have a lot of rust to dust off my copy of GTK Radiant :)

Hmmm.... I may have varying levels of happiness depending on the level of control and distribution of custom maps, mods and content. Please make me happy, id.

Hopefully a totally new level with a fresh new look, similar too the other contemporary new ones and most likely aerowalk... perhaps with an updated look?
Or only aerowalk and something else...

I'm not sure how custom maps work with QLive, but will they work for regular Q3 as well?

I believe the SDK is more or less the same with some very minor details, but the QL pk3s are encrypted. The contents of the pk3s are more or less the same though.

The pk3s are the same except that, as Obsidian said, the Quake Live pk3s are encrypted.. All Quake3 Maps should work in QL aswell.

Yeah, I've loaded a few maps from q3 into qlive just for fun (tr1ckhouse-beta3, freestyle_88, etc. for defrag) as well as some "rota" maps. I also converted one of my pk3s that change some sounds, models and skins. Cool stuff. Only usable on single player, ofc.

They're getting excited at QL forums at the prospect of hubaero returning.
