Do I see some Unreal I textures there?
No, it's mostly Rorschach's textures, the stone/moss are mine

Knowing Noruen's skills I'd say that this map could very well be capable of beating Lloyd's Ancient Archipelago. The screenshot above reminds me of it somehow. I'm eagerly waiting to see more of this. Keep it up, man!

Holy feck man that looks great. Awesome skybox. I wonder though, how did you do the tower? I don't see that coming back in your skybox pic.
Skybox is not finalized yet, but it is simply added in photoshop and previously created in Maya.

Mon(a)ster - interesting thought :)

For some reason I can't log on from home at Maverick's forum, so I'll post this here (I'll post the obligatory word of the week in the right place from work tomorrow).

Works been very busy so my time to develop this has been very hit and miss, that saying I've got about 75% of the geometry done now. As you can see I've gone for something very geometry based. Once the brushwork is done, I intend to detail out the level with a lot of decals. I'm after a very clean tech-look, in contrast to the very texture based busy industrial stuff I've been doing of late.
So far absolutely no patches and absolutely no overdraw.

You should really get in touch with maverick if you haven't already donkey - otherwise he might kick you out because of the missing words.

Hey guys, thought i should post some screens of my first ever finished map.
It's actually a remake/retexture project i was asked to do on a Duel Arena (DA) map for Warsow.
(Duel Arena essentially is like Clan Arena 1on1 where you start with all weapons).

The architecture is pretty simple since it's just a small map to train your aim on and you want to be able to jump on walls easily without getting stuck.

This is what the map (wda1) originally looked like when i got my hands on it:

And here are some shots of my remake:

The fan model isn't even in the game yet, and it's already overused. Still can't wait for .7 though. :D

kimza,

good use of texturing/lighting to create illusion of detail there.

Excuse me, I didn't say anything like that. You can safely ignore my stupid remark, it wasn't really about your map. Don't get paranoid :p
Btw, those screenshots are looking very nice.

Wow, my old account is still there.

Been working on the school map again. Those trees make me go nuts. I intend to use sprites for them. The skybox is directly from Google Earth.

That's looking pretty neat. I like the tree. Love that you took the skybox from Google Maps as well, that's good thinking there :)

Are you photosourcing the textures from pictures actually taken at your school campus?

It certainly looks a gazillion times better than that Pakistaini university map.

Yes, I took pictures of every tree and bush. Even bought myself a Wacom for making the textures with alpha channels, cause it's a pain working with the mouse.
