You guys ever heard of or used one of these? A few companies make them I think (
http://www.powerballs.com/), it's a small gyroscope that is used for rehabilitation and strengthening of the wrists, forearms and hands. I suffer from either ganglion cysts (inflammation of the lining of the tendons) in my wrists or carpal tunnel syndrome, this thing helps quite a bit. Ya, I'm a disabled piece of shiet. Also a good warm-up and warm-down for guitar playing and I'd imagine it would be good for drummers and people who use their hands/arms for sports. As I know there's a few musicians and other sporty freaks in here I thought I'd post this.
Also has a built-in display so you can count your RPMs... the world record holder has something like 16,000 RPMs... I could only ever get to about 11,500. This thing rapes your fuckin' forearms if you get it up to about 5 or 6k RPM and hold it there for a minute... my god, I've never felt a burn like that before in my life. Apparently can provide up to 40lbs of resistance...
Drumeh, might wanna grab one and try it out on your students?
