Rest periods; talk to me...

Currently ramping up the sessions from 3 to 5 a week, with nothing hardcore being done on the weekend, though I might start some distance* running on these days. Will this be too much and am I at risk of "burning myself out" or damaging myself in anyway from not letting my muscles recover?

For instance this week I have done the following:

Monday:
'Cindy’
20 min AMRAP (As many rounds as possible):
5 Pull Ups
10 Press Ups
15 Squats

Tuesday:
A: Deadlift 3-3-3-3-3

B: Death By 10m Sprints
1 Sprint the 1st minute, 2 Sprints the 2nd minute, 3 the 3rd, and so on…until you can’t complete the distance for the given minute.

Wednesday (tonights work out)
“Morrison”

50-40-30-20-10
Wall Balls (10kg/6kg)
Box Jumps (24″/20″)
Kettlebell Swings (24kg/16kg)

WOD will be done Thursday and Friday as well...

Cheers,
DC

*I use the word distance as loosly as possible as I am terrible at anything longer than about 3k...

I'm thinking about buying a treadmill. I want to start getting my heart rate up every day and I think running would be good. Right now I do no exercise. I'm not overweight. I'm 6'1" and weigh about 165. But I want to start doing something since I'm at that age wear my metabolism will start to slow down and if I don't do something, I'll start to pack on the pounds. So I've got running in mind. Plus I'm going to start doing the P90X ab ripper three times a week to keep the belly fat away.

Anyone else doing strictly running? Any treadmill owners? I'm looking for one in the $500 to $800 range...

I use to be even thinner, lingering around 150lb for years. I've gained 15 pounds in the past 2 years. And it ain't muscle. I want to get in shape, but not bulk up. Just lose the belly...

You need to bulk up IMO. You'll lose fat easier that way. If you maintain your weight at 165 lbs, but replace the fat with muscle, you'll look good. I'm 6'1" and I posted pics here when I weighed 165 lbs.
