Time for a new project...a pool...
Re: Time for a new project...a pool...
80k seems a bit low...above ground pool?
Re: Time for a new project...a pool...
My parents-in-law have a swimming pond rather than a pool. There's no active cleaning system or heating system for the water.
The water flows from the main basin into a lower basin where natural filtration and cleaning of the water happens through soil and plants and the cleaned water is pumped back into the main basin.
I was a bit skeptical at first as well, when my father-in-law said he was considering it, but now that I've seen it and swam in it, it's actually much nicer than a stale unnatural looking pool. The way it's integrated into the garden is really nice and you're not looking at this monstrous and tacky looking azure blue pool but at something that looks like it's part of the garden. The water's simply clean as well and the best thing is that you don't need to put chemical additives into the water to keep it clean.
IMO, something like this is aesthetically far more pleasing than this.

Lol no...we didn't do a bunch of rock features (cuz they are gay). Those things add 5-25k per feature to price... And they are super unpractical and ruin the fun...xer0s wrote:80k seems a bit low...above ground pool?
Re: Time for a new project...a pool...
This is what the first morons came up with...changes needed?...

Re: Time for a new project...a pool...
Btw...motion capture technology was used on me to create the guy on float and hot tub...
Re: Time for a new project...a pool...
lol, that looks like something you'd see at the Holiday Inn...
Re: Time for a new project...a pool...
So what changes do u recommend? We got a designer coming tomorrow and another on sunday after church...I could ask them about your recommendations:..
Re: Time for a new project...a pool...
Does look like something you'd see at a holiday resort =/. I hate the curves, prefer straight lines and ditch that stupid stone lining the top, looks like a renovated council house. Other than that, it's a pool.
You also need a mosaic of Q3W.

Wtf would I do with a rock faced waterfall?...
Symmetrical shaped pool would look gay in our yard...

Fair nuff bout the symmetry, still don't like that shape tho :/. You got any ideas ?, you keeping the mock stone stuff ?, any diving plans ?

Re: Time for a new project...a pool...
Meh...we want a large open space in middle of pool mostly...a hot tub and maybe one feature like a slide, cliff jump or whatever...
Re: Time for a new project...a pool...
Sounds win. Don't forget the bar

Re: Time for a new project...a pool...
Nonfunctional is for dramatic morons...
Re: Time for a new project...a pool...
How's this for functional - when you take a slash in the jacuzzi it'll get dragged down the waterfall into the pool.
When you have your jesus friends over you can watch them play volleyball in the main pool as you sit smugly in the jacuzzi

Re: Time for a new project...a pool...
Something like this could be cool...

Re: Time for a new project...a pool...
it doesn't really matter what kind of pool you get, Geoffrey: one day for sure one of your kids will drown in it, and when you break the news of the tragedy on this forum this post will be quoted by someone, accompanied by a series of special characters intended to represent a bemused facial expression
Re: Time for a new project...a pool...
Flower beds right next to pool? Wtf moron alert!...xer0s wrote:Something like this could be cool...
Re: Time for a new project...a pool...
it's ok if you need to make up excuses because you can't afford a waterfall.scared? wrote:Nonfunctional is for dramatic morons...
Re: Time for a new project...a pool...
His kids are gonna poo in it.
Re: Time for a new project...a pool...
I like it... the shape doesn't really buy you the space to actually swim in... it's more of a socializing layout.'scared? wrote:
the lower area with the bar thing is a pretty nice idea... no need to change that, but your retarded kids will insist on running around the pull so someone will get hurt.
The rocks will look nice but after a while the compound between them will separate and you'll be needing repairs.... not to mention if someone slips, or tries to get up on or down to the pool from the rocky trim , they run a high chance of getting all scraped up..hell once the grout start chiping, you might even get your feet all fucked up by simply walking on it. The rocks will be more difficult to clean... all kinds of shit is gonna be growing in the imperfections. Other solid/ smooth finish options for the pool trim will last a lot longer, and will be more appropriate for kids.
