Manipulating brushes

Post by monteeko »

I am brand new to using this level editor and have used many in the past. Most of the editors such as Qoole I was able to move the brushes around but so far I can't figure out how to move them in this editor, or even select a brush. Does this editor only 'cut' or 'hollow' brushes to make levels? Any information will be appreciated.

Hello monteeko and welcome to the forums :D

You might try the Level Editing & Modeling forum for a better response.

Moved the thread for you.

Try reading:
http://icculus.org/gtkradiant/documentation.html

Also see the program's Help > View Shortcuts option.

You can also ask questions on IRC:

GtkRadiant uses the same principles as Qoole, it's just that button combinations are different.
Some quick tips:
- Hold shift and click a brush using the left mouse button to select a brush.
- Once selected you can drag a brush around.
- Dragging the "outsides" of a brush resizes it.
- Press V to go into vertex editing mode.
- Press E to go into edge editing mode.
- Ctrl+Shift+LMB selects a single face of a brush.
- Esc deselects brushes.

Thank you for moving my topic to the proper area, I appreicate that. And thanks Eraser for the quick tips, I will try those and see if I can't get started on actually building a level.
