8/9. Shit... breezed through most of them but wasn't paying attention and did a stupid mistake on #6.

Tricky shit. 8 and 9 threw me for a loop, my brain was leaking out my fucking ears. I got 5 of 9 in about 10 mins.

7 out of 9 here. For the first 5 I simply looked at what the arrow would be pointing at.

9/9 I found the first 2 the most difficult cause I was trying to do it in a random manner, but then I realized there are some pretty straight forward associations you can make that can easily pluck out the odd ones.

I would basically just try to visualize only 4 sides(squares) that complete a loop(tube). By simply ignoring the other 2 squares that cap off that loop I completely removed the 3rd dimension's difficulty. It made it feel alot more like a simpler 2 dimensional problem.

Then I would see if the other three also complete the same 4 side loop in the same order ... and for the later ones, I would also check if those shapes also pointed the same direction in relation to the 4 sided loop.

after I went through the pain of mentally folding the first two, the ability somehow came naturally...

I didn't read your scores before I took it and felt like a boss when I got 9 but that seems to be not uncommon.

My job entails a lot of multi-part moldmaking which requires exactly this kind of spacial thinking and I enjoy it, however, I don't think it's a special skill - it just requires a fair bit of time and thought if you're unpractised unless you're a complete spastic. It's usually the best molds that are the ones you've taken time to work out and the best moldmakers are the ones that spend time in the initial phases in order to work out their split lines and undercuts rather than rushing straight ahead.

I'd say most people could score 7+ on this with ease if they took their time and I wouldn't be surprised if this test was actually testing something else to do with waning concentration levels amongst younger ages, sot sure though.

Firstly: there's no-one like me; I am unique.

Secondly: when you're good at something you don't necessarily find it interesting; in fact it can make it boring.

I found it easy at first but became less and less interested (more bored) as I went through the challenges.

And DTS is a beautiful unique butterfly.
Not a very smart one though, because a smart butterfly would just finish the task effortlessly.

It is much harder than most tests, and the mean score from our testing so far has been 3.64/9.

This surprises you? Why? People are dumb.
Why they subject themselves to these tests is anyone's guess.

probably a way to influence your desire of completing it. I mean why would anyone bother spend time on this if their ego driven 'above average' self perception wasn't tickled.
