Re: Xbox one thread
I have tried 5 different iterations and every one of them has been terrible. I have tried - I really have, but I just do not get along with them
Re: Xbox one thread
BF1942 and Desert Combat was fucking amazing.
Shit went down hill after BF2 - rankings / compact maps and then long ass animations ?. Fuck you thats what EA said, fuck your fucking game, eat shit and pay and you did. Which is why we get more, thank you world, very fucking muchly.
Where did the bomber go too ?, how the fuck can you go backwards and sell more !?

Re: Xbox one thread
God i loved the Battlefield series, i can’t count the number of hours i spent running around shooting things and/or blowing them up in it’s many iterations.
First one i played was 1943, but i arrived late to the party and soon Vietnam came out, which was probably the most intense game i played at that point. Completely fell in love with the winning combination of incredibly fast paced action and outmanouvering the opponent, lovely stuff. Then BF2 came out, which was just everything bigger and better. Played a lot of that too, great game for it's day.
But Bad Company 2 holds my dearest memories by far! Our dedicated little q3w group of Memph, myself, Phant and Matt – and a few occasional others - would regulary own the shit out of servers. At a certain point we played every night of the week for hours on end… we played so much we all became quite proficient at it in fact. And i played with Memph so often after a while i could actually tell from what his character was doing what he was planning to do next, and vice versa i believe – which was awesomeness. We were on voicechat of course, but like, it wasn’t even needed to coordinate our actions. As often as not we'd be discussing something else entirely. And with the 4 of us in a squad the team we’d be on would usually win and we’d get the Gold Squad thingie nearly every time… ahh, those were the days
Then 3 came along and again much fun was had with the same folks, even though DICE inexplicably made a few decisions that were not so good for gameplay to keep a long story short - and it only really became a game worth playing when the huge map addon came out. Think we all had enough of that one after a much shorter period of time. Could never quite pin down why that was... maybe our lives were changing, maybe it just wasn’t as good a game.
And now there’s 4 apparently, but i find myself completely uninterested. Not even sure if it’s out on the PC to be honest… though if it is and it’s on sale at some point i’ll probably snatch it up just to see what’s the deal.

I loved that. You forgot to say that we were dropping the spawnees in obscure parts of the map. You was also bogged down in the base for 20 mins straight cos it took me just as long to find an adequate rescue vehicle
I remember using the bomber to fly through helicopters n all, they just couldn't outrun it but they would still try

Re: Xbox one thread
Yeah, you're right. I've always thought the air vehicles tended to be overpowered in the series, but in 3 it was just ridiculous. Far too many ways to counter anything you could throw at them from the ground... anything flying was an instadeath machine you could do nothing about aside from hide your sorry ass and hope for the best. To stand a chance of stopping a chopper you'd need at least four (and preferably more) dudes with missiles and that recon laser thing, cleverly dispersed across the map. And you couldn't generally miss that amount of people not doing anything aside from focusing on one task. When one finally went down a new one would be there in like 45 seconds, good times. Planes were just beyond any kind of reach, they only had to fear other planes.Memphis wrote: It wasn't a good game :]
All of the fun of leaping from collapsing buildings was gone. Ground to air warfare was reduced to finnicky, lock-on homing bullshit. Vehicles were too few and quite rubbish with all of the lock-on homing bollocks being spammed. The class loadouts were ruined and all anyone did in a game was grind their pointless fucking stats at ridiculously confined choke-points.
BC2 was the halcyon days (though Matt didn't play, that was Durkan and/or Pulse). Ah, we didn't half kick some arse didn't we
I fucking loved my AT4. We should really play again.
And the stat grinding, haha yes. I remember things like coming across two dudes in a secluded area of the map who spent the entire length of a match taking turns killing each other and then reviving, lols.
We should indeed play BC2 again sometime though... wonder if we can still set that first mcom charge and boobytrap the building in about 30 seconds from the start on that jungle map

It was previously confirmed that Japan wouldn't see the console until next year.
