What do you believe?
What do you believe?
Just wondering what you guys believe. Use the topics below, you can give a yes or no answer but please expand if your view is in between.
God: I believe there is a possibility that something that created everything exists.
Jesus: I believe Jesus was a regular person but I’m not even sure he existed.
Ghosts/Spirits/Souls: I don’t believe any such thing exists, even if I saw something I would be skeptical and question what I actually saw.
Ufos/Aliens: I believe there is a high possibility that intelligent life exists outside of our planet, I don’t necessarily believe that this life has visited earth.
Resurrection: I think there is a possibility that our physical consensus is resurrected if the particles that make our brain are put back together at some point in time after our death. This can either occur by technology in the future or with a lot of time.

No. I do not beleive in any type of superintelligent being that created us. nor do I beleive one exists. One may have existed but it's by no means what we think of as god.inphlict wrote:Just wondering what you guys believe. I doubt he existed, he certainly wasn't what the book represented. At best he was the greatest con artist ever, that got killed. Or at worst he never existed.Jesus: I believe Jesus was a regular person but I’m not even sure he existed.
That's life after death bullshit that doesn't exist. I'm sure there's a reason for all phenomenon even if we don't know what that is.Ghosts/Spirits/Souls: I don’t believe any such thing exists, even if I saw something I would be skeptical and question what I actually saw.
Yes, same as you I beleive the same. I'd even go as far as to say there HAS to have been other intelligent life in the universe.Ufos/Aliens: I believe there is a high possibility that intelligent life exists outside of our planet, I don’t necessarily believe that this life has visited earth.
That's a tough question to awnser both philosophicaly and realisticly. After you die, if your brain is somehow reactivated is that person really you? Or is it the new tools, machines and devices used to make you really just creating a new person who happens to have the same memories and thoughts you had?Resurrection: I think there is a possibility that our physical consensus is resurrected if the particles that make our brain are put back together at some point in time after our death. I'm not sure how to awnser that one tbh.

odd how god is a omnipotent figure at the top of the food chain... then come the preists then the others. typical pyramid scheme :P
strange how people have structured a lot of religions based on power heirachies. Just perfect for what they need to weild such control over people.
Now look at it 'scientifically'. There is no 'god'... forces are very weak and it is the 'strength in numbers' that counts. Gravity is one of the weakest powers known. Yet it can tear 'time fabric' if theres enough of it (collapsed star)
Anyway, not to debate... but rather to say that there's the other side of the coin. Where "the allmighty" could very well be the smallest building block of matter... which, if you think about it, is the most critcal and important.

i'm a nihilist.
makes things much easier.
so:
god: maybe - doesn't really matter though. if god exists he could not be a final answer as his existance would require a legitimation or a cause for his existance as well... (etc...
ad infinitum)
jesus, lol.
soul: it is obvious that there is at least one percieving entity (me) and there is a percieved world. other statements on this issue would need further elaboration.
aliens: why not? not necessary though.
resurrection: see above.

As for souls... not disembodied. I tend to believe the mind is embodied.
I'm open to the possibility of lifeforms existing in other forms though, such as light energy or some other exotic particle/wave thingie...
ufo's/aliens - duh - one only has to look at the scale of the universe to understand that the chances of there not being aliens is almost zero.

God: I am God, you are god and together WE make up the universe. And i dont like the word god, i have adopted Jah for its lack of religious ties.
Jesus: He existed, its too much of a stroy behind him to believe he didnt exist. I would even say that he was functioning on a high level of human existance, but perhaps like we like to do, we deified him and turned him into a religious icon.
Was he the son of god ? See question 1.
Ghosts/Spirits/Souls:ghosts might exists, if they do they are simply beings out of sync with our existance. Too long to go into a proper answer.
Ufos/Aliens: Aliens exist, yes. Look to egypt, summeria, greece for examples.
Resurrection: dont care.

Well, I believe in the soul, the cock, the pussy, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days.
