Re: HD projectors for gaming

As far as bang for the buck goes, any thoughts on this one SIK? http://www.vanns.com/shop/servlet/item/ ... GoogleBase Not a machine I'm familiar with but seems to be a fairly decent basic 720p model LCD from what I can gather. In that sort of price range also have a look at the Panasonic AX200 (LC...

Re: HD projectors for gaming

No shadowing problems on most modern HD projectors. Most important things to watch out for are:- 1) Environment. Ideally you want the room to be 'batcave'. Matt black walls/floor and ceilings. Most people can't accommodate this but you need to get as dark as possible to improve your contrast ratio. ...

I've always liked Hawking's answer to the possibility of time travel. If it is ever possible, where are they? Surely people travelling in time have to travel to some point in time, so why has no-one ever chosen to travel to the time of our earth at any point in the past few hundred years?

1'133'870 yea how in the fuck did you do that? I have survived without dying to 250,000 or 300,000 or thereabouts, but the game just gets fucking ridiculous with the screen being completely covered in shit. Do you do anything specific with the black hole things to get maximum points out of them whe...

In the episode in which Clarkson drove the Veyron against the airplane across Europe he said that although it has a retail price of £850k each one costs £5 million to build. That's PS3 style losses... Although I believe an F1 car would be quicker off the line I would be interested to see how they st...

I remember reading somewhere an interesting fact about the universe. The amount of space between matter is so great, that if all the matter in the (visible) universe were squeezed together as tightly as possible (to the planck level), it would take up less space than the nucleus of an atom. You cou...

I've said it once and I will say it again, The Davinci Code is probably one of the worst books I have ever read. I'm not even trying to be a naysayer here, it was just plain terrible. I read the whole thing in about a day and half just to get it over with. Furthermore, I don't understand why people...

I was just thinking of a situation where a company knew in advance that the disease is so rare that very few people who had the disease would actually pay for it. Sorry Jules, been at work inventing new drugs... :p Like I said earlier, if there was no market the drug would never get made. Nothing g...

Hi Jules, still around just don't post as much as I used to (not that I was ever a prolific contributor!) :icon25: As for the economics of drug development they are (rightly or wrongly) taken into account right from the first decision as to what disease targets to go after. When you're talking about...

well does it cost a lot of money to actually produce these drugs independent of the actual R&D? Depends on the scarcity of the starting materials, length and yields of reaction sequence, synthetic complexity and a lot of other variables. But I'm afraid even if they can knock the tablets out for...

tnf, if you haven't played 'Psychonauts' on the XBox yet you should definitely grab it. Funniest and most original platformer I've played in many a year. Worth the price just for the 'The Milkman Conspiracy' level.

I stayed at the 'Barbizon Palace' while I was there. Very nice hotel just opposite the central station so handy for most of the attractions (and just round the corner from the red light district..... not that I went there obviously :paranoid: )

I've booked my last few hols with Expedia (including a 4 day break in Amsterdam in April). Everything booked from one site so it's nice and simple, never had a problem with them.
