Re: Starcraft 2 wont support LANplay
Good way to alienate your fanbase if anything. Though I imagine Blizzard has something else planned that will use Bnet 2.0 to create VPN/VLAN play or something to that effect, either way still a very lame move.

Re: I lowered my fov and sens
Well, what Deji said is true. But you have to be comfortable with the setup at first. Personally I could probably play just as well with a ball mouse from 1992 as I do with my MX518 but it would take alot of setting up and testing new values and seeing the effects it has to do it. If you think you c...

NYC area here, it's currently -8ºC, feels like -14ºC. Summers range from comfortable to fairly hot (30ºC-35ºC generally)

Play a little bit of DeFrag and do that while paying attention to the UPS counter...you'll notice the difference if you turn the mouse.Rawing wrote:Strafing isn't like that any more is it? At the peak of the test there was just over 2,000 people playing, pretty good for a closed beta

Re: I lowered my fov and sens
Right now I'm using:
cg_fov 110
in_mouse -1
sensitivity 4 (6th notch in XP)
cl_mouseaccel .1
I change my setup constantly though. My mouse is a Logitech MX518 with the Logitech Set Point drivers, standard DPI/hz/etc. Also, that's with Quake Live though as I've switched to that from Quake 3.

Re: Players with best movement?
Yeah I was able to do it in a single jump but I failed at it more times than I succeeded. I make the jump almost all the time when doing it the "normal" way, it's a pretty easy jump though.

Re: Players with best movement?
w3sp is extremely good at movement, however he doesn't play anything but DeFRAG :( I hate saying this, but walter really has good movement. He's the only guy I've seen that can do the bridge to rail on DM6 in one jump in VQ3. Too bad he's completely psychotic and will probably never attend a LAN tou...

Re: Where are all of the players at?
As already stated, download the OSP and CPMA mods to find good players, there aren't many good or even decent players in unmodded Q3 these days. Be sure to download an external server browser, the ingame browser is mostly worthless now. QTracker and MaxBrowse are both excellent and will find you ple...

Re: David Beckhams wife playing Q3
It's the CPMA mod (version 1.46), but the gameplay is the same as in Baseq3 and OSP. CPMA with VQ3 gameplay has basically replaced OSP for competition since 2006 due to the CPL using it in their last Q3 tournament. So you have to install the mod to watch the demos, sorry

I have a few demos of myself on my FF account, I've lost many of my good demos through hard drive crashes and such :( But yeah - http://hosted.filefront.com/vicarious0 - that's my FF account, with some of my demos in 1v1, so feel free t...
