Re: [Doom3] GtkRadiant 1.5 ase import missing???

The bad thing is i cannot place any type of model. No rmb -> place model or (like in Q3) misc_model. I looked for an empty entity with model flag. Nothing. It think Radiant dont do it because of a missing button. :tear: Most linux software is availabe in packages for an easy install. GtkRadiant is n...

Thanks for the suggestions! @ dichtfuxx: thx! @ voodoochopstiks: i tried a "light -dirty" fake ambient occlusion lightmap render and the seam between the two materials were totaly dark. The screenshot above is an out of the box radiant compile. I think i´ll use the -dirty key in final comp...

All right. I used -shade -shadeangle 120. Much to high.
I forgot how to apply pong shading in the editor. Wasn´t there an entity key?

turning misc_model structural

I modelled a few small and plain rooms in blender and exported them as an .ase file. After setting "spawnflags" to "6" everything was fine. I can walk trough it and it has lightmaps. It still needed a big brush box around for vis. Is it possible to make this imported geometry str...

...had to use modelscale 950 in radiant
You can get reference models at http://www.quake3bits.com/ to check how big your sphere will be in radiant.

If you model in blender for quake3 set the grid division to 8.

Yeah! You´re using the skybox entity. Most people neglecting this feature.

I would export the sphere as a ase with two different materials. The edges between the different colors will become blurry with one skin on a sphere this big.

Did you made a ico- or a uvsphere?

Cool! I really like the look of it. I would not use the cell shade compiler hack in a boxed map. It duplicates, scales and translate every face at its normals and invert its normals. You will have about 50 percent more tris, the black thing has no lightmap, and the cool cortoon edges at the other en...

Ermm, ... The most textures are besed on "notsogood" free digital image reference i found in the web. These pictures look ok at the beginning but most times theres some ugly grain hidden in darker parts. One way to get something nice out of it is to scale it down. The b_stone source file w...
