I agree with godlike's comments, get the layout right first then add your visual style to the map. You seem to have the visual and artistic ability to create your own custom assets, that will just be a bonus in the long run. Visual style looks interesting, almost reminds me of a Metroid or Zelda like style with the glowing textures. I'll try and play test it with some friends this weekend and give you some feedback. From running around it, it initially feels like it should have some intense combat areas.

Yeah I mentioned the lighting / contrast issue. Its just a few hours in to it so it'll be tweaked. My fps are locked at the cap tho with my settings on high. No light overlapping at all. Managed some progress. Some areas portal nicely, while some others are still having mjor problems, but on average my FPS have gone up anywhere from 10-30 fps. Some areas Im maxed or near max FPS. I also removed alot of lights to try and help, there is still alot of overlapping tho. If you want the ....

Yeah I was just reading the novel on the Q4 boards. I'd only make a change if it was necessary to increase performance so the map is more playable. I'd also try and blend it into the theme so its not like a huge noticable thing.

Alright I'll take a look after work tomorrow and see what I can come up with. Are you alright if I make some slight structural changes to make the visportals work a bit better?

Maybe this will make up for the DM6 I never finished for DOOM 3 a year ago heh.

Looks like its coming along ok, be cool if you incorporated a new theme into it though. Something other than the gothic Q3 set, make it your own.
