I agree with godlike's comments, get the layout right first then add your visual style to the map. You seem to have the visual and artistic ability to create your own custom assets, that will just be a bonus in the long run. Yeah I mentioned the lighting / contrast issue. Its just a few hours in to it so it'll be tweaked. My fps are locked at the cap tho with my settings on high. No light overlapping at all. Managed some progress. Some areas portal nicely, while some others are still having mjor problems, but on average my FPS have gone up anywhere from 10-30 fps. Some areas Im maxed or near max FPS. I also removed alot of lights to try and help, there is still alot of overlapping tho. If you want the ....
