Re: MapCore's Quake 3 15th Anniversary Contest

Great screen shots! Apart from the overly repeated texture on the lava, that first shot is stunning - good progress.

Interesting looking layouts on the next few... that last one looks crazy! Can't wait to see what that's all about.

Wish I had time for this

Keep the screenies coming mappers.

Re: Looking for former Map-center or Levelmakers mods/admins

Blimey, who rounded up this motley crew?!

Nice to see so many old names still here.. I deeply miss those Q3 mapping days, it'll never be the same again.

What about Paul, Astro, Jezebel, Shallow?

Excellent stuff Sock. Really like the library;especially the mosaic Moon tiles. Not been on here for years so it's good to know people are still knocking out great Q3 maps!

Turtle Map Contest Hi q3w We're putting on a "Turtle Speed" Map Contest over at Map-Center starting on Sunday the 4th of Feb. It will last for 1 week, and is for Quake 3 . There are no winners, and the maps will not be officially judged; it's just for fun and personal development. Once th...

Nice looking map.

I like the painting too, is it taken from somewhere in particular? It has quite a "soft" feeling to it, i.e. the shapes and the lighting.

I have this really enjoyable vision in my head of a truly massive map with just tons and tons of interesting things to look at and explore. Like it would be divided up into large sectors with a specific theme (think Crystal Maze), so there's an egyptian sector, a medieval sector, tech, mayan, and s...

Lovely tourney map, although quite easy to dominate the bots on, I'd love to play it against a real live person. Bet it's really intense.

Glad to see it's been added to the LVL queue!

I'd be interested to know what compile switches you used for lighting.

As far as I know, there would be no way to change that with a script. Using the normal skybox script puts lines in for Nvidia cards (or is it the ATI, can't remember). You can add an extra parameter (-skyfix ?) in there to remove it, but that seems to make lines in the ATI cards (or nVidia, which ev...

Both good ideas, but I think for a project like this it would be easier to pick a texture set to use rather than such a specific theme as that would more than likely require a lot of new textures to be made. Just a thought.

Yeah that really does look like a sweet PTM there. What theme would people want to use if we were to start a new one?

I guess the main factor to making it work is who is working on it. As Shallow mentions the MC one almost went tits up just because of silly bickering (I think it was even called "the argument"!) I'd be interested in joining in depending when it would take place and how many people are invo...
