Re: Light blocking transparent shader?
Realistically, why would you have something invisible that casts shadows? Cause there's a door which doesn't block the light. By the way, is this fixable? Anyways, if I make a surface behind the caulk, it should be normal? Will the door (which is in or between the brush(es) be visible? (I'll try.) ...

Re: Light blocking transparent shader?
Then it'll be something like caulk is. So I have the Surface parameters: No Draw and Nonsolid which will cause a caulk like texture. I want to have something in the brush (Like nodraw, which is trans), so I think it needs the surfaceparm trans, doesn't it? But, then it doesn't block light. Does anyb...

Light blocking transparent shader?
Just a little question. Is it possible to make a shader which is transparent and blocking light?
If so, how?
Thanks.

Re: GtkRadiant 1.5: Strange texture while editing.
I tried one, I'll check the others to see what happens.
Hardware Texture Compression
OpenGL ARB: Fail
S3TC DXT1: Fail
S3TC DXT3: Fail
S3TC DXT5: Fail
So, it doesn't matter which Hardware Texture Compression I use.

I just got used to 1.5! lol. But if there isn't a fix yet, I'll just go back to my sweet 1.2.9 or something. :P

Re: GtkRadiant 1.5: Strange texture while editing.
But it's not really the same.
But ehh, still having the problem, after uninstalling some drivers, and shutting down my game booster. Nothing really seems to help.
It happens if I select a brush sometimes, the exact cause of it? I've no idea.
Does somebody know what could cause it?

GtkRadiant 1.5: Strange texture while editing.
I'm having some troubles with GtkRadiant 1.5
Sometimes I get really weird textures, while I'm editing. It's quite annoying, so maybe you could help?
Here's a screenshot.

Does somebody knows of this?

Allright.. here it is:

No need to add the folder to Q3Ase, I've added the whole baseq3 folder instead.

Re: Q3Ase isn't opening a .tga?
Errm, yea, after looking some more in photofiltre I found out I could save it as RGBA. And so I did. After getting back the transparency in the texture, and some other changes, I wanted to let it rotate. Back to Q3Ase! But now I seem to have a little problem though. It still doesn't show up in Q3Ase...

Re: Q3Ase isn't opening a .tga?
What did you use to make the tga file? I used a program called 'PhotoFiltre Studio'. Shouldn't be a problem as I used it before for such textures. Did you save it in 32bit RGBA format? I'm not sure. PhotoFiltre Studio didn't really ask for it, can't find it anywhere else. Here are some crappy prope...

Q3Ase isn't opening a .tga?
Hi people! I'm having a problem with Q3Ase and my new made targa.. It's just when I try to edit the texture source of a new shader, it can't load my targa. If i put it in a folder where aren't any other textures, it's not even in the texture list. But if it's in a folder with other textures and sele...

hi i've got a problem with most of my patches, i don't think it's a bug but, it's annoying. http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/6964/quake3patchthingzm4.jpg the problem are the light points from the skybox .. a little bit small on this one, but if you move the points 'move with you'. it actually give...

ok thanks, really helpful!Fjoggs wrote:A thin brush with the texture common/slick ontop of the floor you want to be slippery does the trick. Or you could edit the shader for the floor or whatever you want to be slick, but most trickmaps just use the slick texture.

hey, got a question..
can i make a model go with the func_bobbing, like the jets in q3dm19.
or, is the texture for it somewhere?
thanks

Re: Fog Issues
i don't use q3map2 actually, i don't think it has to do with the compiling.
and the shader of the fog is just the one from what quake 3 used too: sfx/hellfog
it doesn't really matter if it gets fixed or not, cause i already use something else, but would be nice for in the future
