Re: Euro footy 2012

They didn't make that much of an effort in the second half really. They looked like they couldn't be bothered, which is more disappointing than trying but losing anyway. Which will likely be England's situation this evening.

Re: Euro footy 2012

Nah they won't win, because they'll shit a brick when they come up against a team with actual scoring potential, and fail yet again.

Re: PHOTOS PLEASE

and a quick question if I may... the camera came packaged with one of these, Nikon AF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 G VR... and I bought a long lens - Nikon AF-S 55-300mm f4-5.6G DX IF-ED VR but now I am thinking smaller (large aperture /f 1.4 but they are expensive), so which of these would you (read I) buy ...

Re: Patch stitching...?

I had this problem when creating some Egyptian style columns. I think I fixed it by setting func_group across the relevant patches, but it was a while ago now so I can't be sure.

Re: Screenshots

@Kaz: I can't say for practicality of course, but the lower layer in your map would look great with some water in it, especially if you lowered the stain height on that texture to match a foot height water level (though I suppose the water level wouldn't always have to be that high if it were a sewe...

Re: Screenshots

That reminds me of Call Of Duty, Julek

I took a look at AEdesert, AEon, and you've given me a few more ideas. I especially like how you styled the obelisks, and I like how you enlarged and modified the jump pad shape to work as a teleporter

Experimenting with some ancient Egyptian style architecture using Sock's textures.

Re: Rage

Not sure if I'll get killed for saying this, but the graphics remind me of CryEngine 2. What'll be most interesting is to see how they do DOOM 4 on this engine, if indeed that is what they'll actually be using. Impressive none-the-less.

@maz0r: Nah, but I've seen screenshots! The look of this level comes from equal portions of Uncharted, the new Tomb Raider game, Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls, and of course sock's awesome maps I was going to say it reminded me of Tomb Raider. Ah, I hate visiting here, because I always feel I shoul...

Re: Screenshots

Hey UniKorn. Looks good, how similar is CoD4 editing to Quake 3? As I understand it, CoD4 is somewhat based off of the Quake 3 engine back when they licensed it for the first CoD. It's still very similar to Q3 editing, and uses a modified version of Radiant. There are quite a lot of game specifics ...

Call of Duty 2 is getting played quite a lot these days, but as for the competitive scene Counter Strike is still dropping a good portion of bricks on it. Perhaps that's why there aren't really any "competitive" maps for CoD2, or maybe it's actually the other way round with the competitive...

That flying thing that looks like a those ones from Quake 4 hasn't got a huge amount of health, as when I fire one round from the GDF rocket launcher it seems to damage it enough to start flying about crazy. The Cyclops, on the other hand, takes something like 4 or 5 I think. Not been on Strogg enou...

I thought specs came up when installing, and it was something like: Pentium 4, was either a 3GHz or a 3.2GHz (think it was the 3.2GHz with AMD 3200+ equivilant) Nvidia 6600GT (can't remember the ATI equivilant) 1GB RAM Anyway, as for net, it seems pretty good. There was an annoying Icarus spawn camp...
