Re: Daft Punk broke up.

Discovery was an absolutely fantastic album - my mind was blown when a flatmate put it on one day, and the rest was history... Disappointed with what followed, though (Tron: Legacy being an exception - different animal altogether), as even their last - and biggest! - hit was not the same kind of mus...

I was in the general vicinity (not by choice). There were a whole lotta cops on the highway. Locals talking nonchalantly about some dude who got shot this year trying to get in.

OMG PieceMaker :!:

Still amazes me how much traffic this forum had. I'm active in a site that was the climbing world's Q3W equivalent back in the day, and you just don't get that vibe anymore.

She about your age megami? A couple of years older perhaps :) Nice too you're happy she has escaped :) I trust you'll score another suitable mentor/supervisor. Re: What is new in your little world?

My mentor and supervisor at work for the last five years announced yesterday that she is leaving and going off to travel the world for the next six months "before it's too late" (she's in her late thirties). I was pretty shocked... it's going to be a tough change in my little world but I'm...

Computer City... CompUSA... both gone now, but brings back good memories.

I remember my very first time playing Quake 2, in software mode no less, but that first level blew my mind.

Re: Apple's new $300 book

Getting back on topic...

I bought AppleDesign: The work of the Apple Industrial Design Group in 1999, and it was a very interesting read as well as visual record.

In contrast to this... the price is ridiculous and I don't even see any words on the pages.

Re: 1961 Goldsboro B-52 crash

In 2011, Lt. Jack Revelle, the bomb disposal expert responsible for disarming the device, said “As far as I’m concerned we came damn close to having a Bay of North Carolina. The nuclear explosion would have completely changed the Eastern seaboard if it had gone off.” He also said the size of each b...

Most posts appear to be endless ramblings about some completely intangible contextless subject. The medium is the message. Speaking precisely would...

It's insane how deep and twisted this control has been. Among the numerous revelations, I personally found this the most pathetic: Park Geun-hye gave Choi a sizable budget to purchase the presidential wardrobe, and Choi embezzled most of it. Instead of purchasing the clothes that befitted a head of ...

I've also driven the Great Ocean Road and seen the Apostles formations. Just as impressive to me as the cliffs and seastacks were the pastel water colors - unlike anything I'd seen elsewhere in Australia and possibly anywhere. There was an uncomfortable number of tourists at the main lookout but el...

Re: System Shock Remastered pre-alpha video

Wow, I can hardly believe this is officially happening. So many great memories from the SS series... looks like they've created a great atmosphere, almost like a Marathon remake as well.

If SS3 goes along the same path I'm cautiously optimistic.
